Ron`s got it in 1, as std that YM uk impreza has a steel bonnet.
Found this out through checkin out some of my m8s uk jobs, OMG
are they heavy or wot

The very, very first '94's came with aluminium bonnets. I found this out when someone sat on mine

I'm sure the P1 has an ally bonnet - it seems damm light compared to my UK MY00

I`d checked like 8 of them like, an never seen 1 on a uk
Jus goes 2 show though eh,
U only stop learnin when u r wearin a wooden overcoat
Gotta admit though 1 of my m8s had an alu boot on an early uk

Yeah alloy bonnets on earlier models, I can confirm that, my bro-in-law just replaced the one on his MY93 with an MY97 steel job.
Yes the steel is heavier but only by about 30%. While we had both off the car, side by side the difference is barely noticeable. But on the vehicle the steel feels considerably heavier
