Question remap on ad190 8s ecu

hi,anybody got any info on a remap or compatable upgrade for a 8s 22611 ad190 ecu.uk wagon 97
Is it true that you can swap ecu,s without having a problem with the key transponder locking out the ecu.Done alot with german cars(sorry about the swearing)and they have to be sync with the transponder unit!
I don,t want to get a ecu and it not work
cheers

Very few places offer to remap the standard fit ecu.. power engineering being one and possible Scooby Clinic do. There is not really a plug in power increase other than the PPP ecu. Japanese ecu's need the wiring altered to work and the map will be for 100ron fuel and too aggresive.
An Sti ecu will kill your engine due to rev limit difference and different heads and cams etc..

The UK cars do have a key code / transponder.. need programming at a dealer..
