Question Replacing airbox hose for Samco - bit stuck!!

After pulling, squeezing and heaving! I finally got my orginal airbox hose off! I thought it would be a simple case of slotting the Samco hose in its place, then i noticed that something was plugged in to the bottom of the original hose!

As you can see theres a little hose on the left hand side, theres no hole in my Samco hose. So, is it a case of making a hole in the Samco? Also what is it for?!

Just make a hole.... it's the re-circ pipe from the carbon canister....!

Or just Junk the carbon canister and save yourself some weight and don't cut a hole in your nice new samco hose!

Why is there a carbon canistor going to the air box? Is it easy to remove and will anything else need plugging off?

the cc comes out with 2 screws iirc.
join all the pipes together and vent to the chassis.

i've since fitted a samco pipe and removed the air pipe breather pipe completley, now only got 2 pipes venting to atmos.
