boost for a 1994 wrx import wagon?
just a quick question am i right in sayin my 1994 wrx wagon import should run 0.8 bar standard? also i have noticed that it holds the boost then begins to leak it off coming down to rest around 0.6 bar is this right?as i went to alan jefferies rolling road and ran only 212.4 with a arc induction box and rear de-cat but my mate has the same spec car as me and we are equal when we are put head to head, could this bloke at the rolling road be wrong as he said he thinks i have a boost leak i cant see it but....cheers chris

oh also if this is a boost leak im guessing the two probable things will be boost controller on the driver side wing or actuator will a boost controller from a 1995 work on mine not sure if its a booted version, jap or english spec car either will this make a difference or will it work? cheers guys and gals

will have a look it does seem to be more like the ecu bleeding it off than a boost leak to be honest and the fact that my mates wagon is exactly the same speed slightly slower than mine.will that boost controller on the wing work from a 1995?

so i can now puy my mine to rest about havin a boost leak thanks seems to leak off faster in the lower gears and holds it longer in the higher gears when it hits about 5800-6000 revs it begins to leak the boost off down to about 0.65 bar thats why i thought it was more ecu related it seemed to precise thanks for all ya help

It sounds like it is working fine. The wagon has a smaller turbo and lower boost targets than the saloon. It was rated as 220ps which is around 215BHP so the rolling road sounds about right.
The wagons are designed to produce a lot of torque lowe down in the rev range, which they do well.
If you want more boost for longer you could try a decat, or/and a manual boost controller.
If you want a big difference then best bet is a bigger turbo (TD05) and a remap.
HTH
PS the early import wagon does not have a cat in the rear as standard, so your rear decat makes little difference. A downpipe decat pipe makes a big difference but it is a hassle to do it and change it back for MOTs. I would just be happy with it as it is, or use a dawes manual boost controller (with care).

how hard is it to fit a tdo5 turbo? is it a staright swap and what would need changing if anything?

no because it is a ball and spring type not a bleed valve
