Default Quickie oil question (not oil type)

Posted a couple of weeks back about my car smoking on startup, well it seems to have stopped and ive been keeping an eye on my oil level, its never moved from just above half but the oil is looking quite 'dirty' and its only done 2600 miles (3800 total - serviced at 1200).

Do you think it would be wise of me to change the oil at 5000 and see if it stays cleaner (id change from dealer magnatex to helix prob too) and would i be able to get a specialist to do it instead of a main dealer to save some cost without it affecting my warranty?

Which specialist in yorkshire would you use if i was to go that way?

My Previous car (03 WRX PPP) the oil was always clean, but it used to use quite a lot aswell

Simon

well lane turbo in batley (west yorkshire near wakefield)if they are still there.
Im pretty sure they can stamp a service book!

You should check the warranty though some state that only services done by the "dealers" are accepted!

Magnatec is useless oil, it runs really thin at opperating temp. and its jam packed with adatives and being Castrol its recycled and thus full of detergents so plays havoc with old oil seals.
