ive been trying to help a guy with a water leak. Ive worked on hundreds of cars but the flat 4 is pretty new to me...Are there core plugs in the aluminium block is my question. Hes loosing water fast and if its a core plug i want to get him to a mechanic since i dont think he can tackle it himself!
Thread from the dead! I have had to take my car to a local garage instead of my usual one with the same problem and they are insisting it is a engine out job? Is this correct?. Seems a bit overkill to replace a couple of core plugs
No core plugs in Subaru blocks or heads, your water loss is something else, more like one of the metal pipes under the inlet manifold with a pin hole in it, water crossover manifold o rings etc.

The garage have just rang and are insisting it's the core plugs gone, they reckon 6 hours labour
