Default Found out why they call it the carbon canister

Following on from this thread.


Obvious really but didnt really think about it, I guessed it was some kind of carbon foam or such what. Proved myself wrong when the lid popped off (lying on its side to get the screw driver in).........




Carbon canister content! Bugger, ah well. Take it all out, clean foamy filters at the top and replace contents.

so what does it actually do though? why is it there? and more imprortanly where does all that **** come from????

I think its there is get the nasties out of the petrol fumes that go thru it as I believe its used as a petrol tank vent????

That'll be activated charcoal then...

Once contaminated always contaminated...ie dispose of responsibly (fire fire! cough...sorry ) and replace...

Or bin the whole damn thing
