Late Classic IC Diffuser compatible with Early classic?

Late Classic IC Diffuser compatible with Early classic?
I'm about to embark on fitting the larger later spec intercooler to an early classic, obviously the diffuser for the early slanted intercooler is not going to work, so question is will the later diffuser bolt straight onto the underside of the bonnet? or am I better off fabricating something myself?
