HELP ! 2wd 1.6gl .. Bottom rung for me !!
Hi all...
in a vague attempt to buy a more sensible second car, as I am now 30plus and second child on the way, Ive just picked up a stonking nick impreza estate.................. wait for it ....... 1.6 gl whoooo !
Not the Beast I would like, but not the passat I nearly swapped me Landrover 90 for either !
The problem I have is that it knocks/clicks from front end when pulling away from R/H junctions , I can only presume it must be either cv joint or drive axle bearing as it only does it when nearly full lock ? ...
I know that you all probably have 4wd models I just wondered if any one else has had this problem as Ive owned and repaired most makes of motors but never a Subaru..
Jamie.

Sounds like a worn outer CV joint, if you look underneath the car at the rubber boots on the outer end of the axles, one is probably torn and the grease has leaked out. Can be a bit of a pain in the backside to change.
