Default Is it ok to PUSH an auto ? (I know u can't tow them)

Hi guys , quick non-scooby question.

I have a G reg BMW 525 i AUTOMATIC

Engine is blown.

Is it ok to PUSH this car a distance of approx 50 yards ?

I know there is strong advice that you should never TOW an auto.

Thanks - Mark

Not a problem to push it and you can tow most auto's at a limited speed and distance. The reason most people say 'dont tow them' is because they dont have the data for all the different models towing distances and speeds. So its easier to say dont tow any.

Long distance towing is not good for any modern autos, its no good for the box or the torque converter..

Short distances is not really an issue.
