Default Check engine light

Started the car this morn and took it for a drive to warm it up with no probs.
Used it again later and the check engine light came on and was idleing high at about 1100rpm turned the car off and then started it again and it was idleing fine at 750rpm and no check engine light on either as if nothing was wrong. I had this happen to me about 3000 miles ago and David at A.P.I checked the car over and found the fault to be the lambda sensor which I had replaced. Could this be the same fault again and is the car safe to drive or is the car just havin a funny five minutes and all ok. The car is a sti ver 4 import, thanks in advance for any replies.

Simon
