Default Sti back box vs WRX standard box

There are lots of Sti back boxes for sale on Ebay for what seems to be a reasonable price.

Does this modification make a great deal of difference? IS the sound loud (not that I want it to be too loud)? Is there any increase in performance?

Any experience/opinions would be welcome.

not really and no, most people do it for the look alone. No other reason.

As above the only difference is looks, but they do look a lot nicer than the WRX twin pea shooters

yep same here. first mod too. Looks loads better. Slightly deeper burble but you can't tell really unless your window is open and you are near a wall lol. It is supposed to be a bit more free flowing than the wrx one but it won't make any difference unless you decatted and remapped.

Yeah my WRX has an STi back box and I'm bloody glad it does too. The standard twin pipe is feeble looking.
