Default Decat down and up pipes on newage

I've just bought a secondhand TSL Group A Spec Performance Downpipe (it's been lagged) and already have a Magnex decat centre pipe and TSL Tiphoon backbox fitted.

I've already had my car remapped by Powerstation (ecutek) and am running ~1.2bar boost on an MY01 WRX. I'm intending to get them to fit my TSL downpipe and then do an hour back on the rollers for a map tweak.

My question is:

Should I replace the up pipe at the same time as I've heard conflicting reports about the cat disintegrating and wrecking the turbo (or something ).

I'm not too mechanically minded so be gentle

Thanks in advance.

Yes get it replaced for a few more horses,The down pipe has to come off to replace the up-pipe so its false economy to do it at a later date.

Anyone got any experience of this up pipe, I guess it's sensible to stick to the same manufacturer where possible, unless anyone can recommend something better?

Yes Rich you need to replace the up-pipe on a wrx as it has a cat in it and it might disintegrate and wreck the turbo .
The one in the pic is the same as i've got on mine its the one with the flexi joint.
