3rd year service and green panel filter

3rd year service and green panel filter
My 03 sti has a green panel filter in the air box, the boys at subaru service say they will change the filters, should i replace the green panel filter or are these ok to leave as they are, i know my old k&n one didnt need changed...

just buy the cleaning kit! (think it was about £12 from halfords)
i have green panel filter + clean it every 6months/5k (ish...if i remember!)
don't let garage change it/steal it!!!!!!!!!!!

i took my grren cotton filter out and put the original one back in and told them not to change it
saved me just over £26 for a new filter
while it was out i gave it a good clean
