Default Check engine light

Hi i noticed on the way home from work this morning the check engine light on my sti ra kept coming on then off , this happened 3 or 4 times in a 30 mile trip, has anyone got any ideas what might be wrong. The car seems to run ok

did you check the ecu for error codes ??

Could be anything from a change in fuel, a new oil-based air filter, or a failing MAF (etc, etc).

You need the error code to be sure, do a search as there are quite a few recent posts that detail how to get the codes without the need for an ECU monitor.

thanks for the advice i took it to a garage and was told its the knock link ,the funny thing is ive just put a seperate knock link on from link electrosystems ,do i have to reset anything after ive fitted the new original one

just thought of something if the knock link picked up something from the engine ie the engine was knocking would the check engine light still come on and show the same error code?
