I have a 1997 facelift wrx import, is it ok to fit a full decat system with the ecu as it is?

yes it is m8, ive done mine last friday put on the revulotion zorst 3" pipe thru from turb manifold and 5" slash box, and all u need to do is if im right in saying so is disconnect the battery for 15mins and reconnect too reset the ecu.,.. my advice would b too also change the air filter at the same time:P

 

It depends, on some cars you can get boost spikes and you may hit
the fuel cut which basically feels like you've hit a brick wall.

If you don't have one yet, get a boost gauge so as to keep your
eye on it.

Cool, i have a k+n cone filter so will fit it all at same time.

way to go john, the revolution set up zorst i had installed in theory added 40bhp to my motor:P

 

i am doing mine next weekend. Need to fit boost gauge, Hopefully i will have afull remap soon to go with it.

 

be surprised if it did on a standard ecu

 

I have a magnex downpipe and hayward and scott system with jap styoe backbox.
