Default Disconnecting Boost Solenoid without generating CEL ??

2001 Jdm Sti 7.
To isolate the Boost solenoid, so i can see if that is the issue.
What is the best method ??
Just block off the Boost solenoids feed to the wastgate ?? Or just Join the two pipes together on the Boost solenoid & block the air Inlet Hole ???

Thanks

Dean

Disableing the wastegate could result in a blown engine an this is how the engine keeps the boost to a safe level!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks I understand that, the issues i have are at light throttle & i do not intend to wrag the **** of it, as that would just be silly. It is just to eliminate the Boost solenoid from the issue !!!! The wastgate would not be fully disconnected anyhow as the boost solenoid pipe fitting is tee'd into the wastgate pipe from the compressor housing, so the wastegate would still crack open at it's Max Psi rating, (purely Mechanical) & not electronically controlled through the Ecu & Boost solenoid Etc.

Would have thought a simple screw in the pipe going from the boost solenoid to the t-piece that connects to the wastegate. This what you do when fitting a Dawes to stop the boost solenoid raising a CEL.
I'd wait for others on here to confirm though, just to be safe!!!!

What is the actual issue? Boost solenoid CEL can be triggered by overboost.

Hi Paul.

It is not generating a Cel at the Mo, It just feels like boost is escaping at low Rpm Load, So i just wanted to make sure the Boost solenoid was not the issue/Faulty.

Thanks
