whats a MAF sensor

could this cause my wrx to idle rough and not boosp ploperly

Mass Airflow Meter, monitiors the amount of air entering the engine and adjusts fueling.

Very common cause of rough idling and detonation

i think u might find the ecu ajusts the fueling from data receved from the maf senser
