I think the standard MY99/00 will fit but you need to drop the height of the coil pack down.
The 01> DV is a better fit but then you need to adapt/make up a re-circ pipe

ive got it fitted with the sti8 standard dumpvave at the mo,the 99/00 dump valve is a different fittment ive shaved sum off the coil like you say but its still vary tight and the back of the intercooler is tight on the bulk head, ive put some rubber pipe in between but it still makes rubbing noises, any ideas?

thanks

I had an Sti v8 TMIC om my Sti v3 classic, and ran the stock DV.
Made 407bhp on the RR's so it works.

the 99/00 will not fit. the forge vta gives more clearance than sti8 one. only other solution is to cut and weld front to give more clearance. I did this and fitted a forge recirc one.

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...i8+intercooler

Page 2, Post 40 onwards.
Page 3, Post 83 shows DV and bulkhead clearances.

Although I have seen posts of other installs that didn't need to mess with the DV.

Used the OE STi7/8 D/V. Needed to 'tweek' the samco recirc pipe to fit though.

You can shave a little off the top of the coilpacks.

I wanted to refit my HKS SSQV but it wouldnt clear the bonnet with a some custom piping.

I used a forge VTA which is fine for clearance but makes me look like a chav! Any Advice on how you guys got the StI8 Recirc valve to work would help. I take it you need a STI 8 Pipe as the MY00 pipe is too narrow to fit on Sti Dump valve. I went to a Dealer to buy one but it seems to rejoin the intake system somewhere completely different on the Sti engine compared to my MY00 and 346 plus vat seemed alot. Do you need to modify the STI pipe. Do Samco make a suitable pipe? Cheers for any ideas. please help me from being a Chav!

your standard MY00 recirc pipe joins into a steel pipe before it goes off to the inlet pipe. see pic

The neatest way is to chop the steel pipe away from the fuel rails and then replace it with the recirc pipe from the V8. My manifold was off when i did this though.

The easiest way is probably just source a bit of samco from demon tweeks that mates from the V8 valve to the existing MY00 metal pipe.

What do you mean "had"?

Have you sold or gone front mount?

Does this look like the STi7/8/WRX re-circ pipe ?

If do I'll see how much one is from Subaru when I order the left hand bracket.

Thats the one.

Just ring GradeA breakers and get them both together a heck of a lot cheaper!

Are these the left and right hand brackets I need to fit the STi 8 cooler to an MY00

I don't think they are, but maybe they just extend the standard brackets to fit the STi intercooler.

Scott:
Flat 4 used the two m6 tapped holes in the cast end to stabilised his TMIC which i thought was neat. You can see one about 25mm from the dump valve in the second pic.

Instead of buying the standard hose (shown in Post 18), do you think a straight bit of Samco or even a Flexi-Samco would work.

Subaru want £34+VAT.

1 Meter of Samco is about £20 (although I will have to measure the STi DV outlet to check size)

if you get the flexi samco hose it will work but you carnt bend the strait hose cause it will kink, the hose size is an inch i think

thanks
