Question Lambda wiring help...

Need to change my lambda sensor. (on MY95 WRX)

Sensor on it now is 3 wire - RED/WHITE/BLACK

Question - 1) Red wire normally means Titania rather than Zirconia. Is the
lambda actually a Zirconia but has a red wire just because
some japanese cars do?

Question - 2) If this is right and I can fit a universal Zirconia 3 wire lambda
BLACK/WHITE/WHITE then how do I wire it up
in relation to the RED/WHITE/BLACK on it now?

i'm using a 3 wire universal on my 99 UK Turbo.

By the looks of it the white wire will be the signal (with red and black wires being +ve & -ve) wire but i'm not totally sure as my wires were a different colour.

Universal lambda's normally have a signal wire and two wires the same colour that are wire to positive and negative dont matter which way round.

Cheers Craig... even though you're not sure its good to get some input.

Anyone want to back up the idea that the WHITE from the BLACK/RED/WHITE wires is the SIGNAL?

Yes it's a regular Zircona.

From memory, red & black are the heater wires, and white is the output. If you look at the plug, the output wire always has a gold plated terminal. So I think you need

OE white -> universal black
OE black -> white
OE red -> white
