John,

I have an MY98 WRX which I believe has the same engine as the UK turbo cars. The extra performance comes from

Larger turbo
Larger IC (not much though)
Larger Injectors possibly
Different map

And I dont think much else.

as above, the stuff i know about on my car

440 injectors
unsure about the fuel pump?
larger sti style IC painted black
much larger MAF and air intake
pics of a 97 uk and wrx maf

VF22 turbo
Map (mine has a 1.45bar fuel cut for some reason which helps a lot )
closer ration box then the uk cars which helps with acceleration
red and white rear lights which make it well wikkkid

andy f commented on 22b.com that they can take as much timeing when being mapped as the sti of that year, i am not sure why that is, maybe the cams/heads are the same as the sti?

i am informed that they do not have the sti pistons

Now then Micky, long time no speak.

Funny what you said about Andy F and the timing. When he mapped mine there was no knock/det and the limiting factor was the turbo at 1.3 bar.

Hows your beast running? ever use those headers?

headers are on

they were fitted when the engine was rebuilt, along with a few other things
car is running fine now, i have not had a rolling road done for a very long time, but it feels "better"
