Why can STI rev higher safely
What would the difference be between WRX and STI lump (newage) that would let Sti rev higher.
With my soon to be, set
TD05 16g
Ported headers
Pink Inj
Walbro
Pressure reg
STI8 Top mount
Induction kit
Full DE-CAT (up pipe ported & up/down pipe wrapped)
When i have RE-MAP can they set the rev limiter higher, and would there be any benefit?
Thanks

The sti has stronger internals and also a different cam profile I believe. This allows it to rev higher, and also for the power to not drop off as quick as an wrx with wrx cams at the same range.
You could have the remap set the limit higher, but with wrx running gear it is pointless imo

I had my Bugeye Mapped by Bob Rawle and he raised the rev limiter to get a bit more flow through the turbo
I have to say that going from the OEM TD04 to the TD05 with mods like yours was the best ever change that I did An absolute quantam leap from 215 BHP to 300 plus BHP ....eeek !!
STi killer...........LOL
