Default 98' centre section on a 01' classic????

I am thinking of getting my 2001 classic downpipe decatted, the car has the PPP so will not pass the MOT without at least one CAT, as i am removing the front CAT i will need to beable to connect a center section with cat on in time for the MOT and then take it back off afterwards,

I am thinking of buying a second hand center section from a 1998 classic because its cheap and availible, so the big question is, will it fit my 01 classic.

If the 1998 section is the same as the standard 2001 classic then its a straight fit and i will continue with the purchase, if the center section is not transferrable then there aint much point me buying it, so i could do with fast accurate answers, not a problem for you guys a guess,

Dave M

dont think it would be a stright fit as the classic is a 3 piece exhaust system and yours is a 4 piece!!! would be nice if the centre would work on my JDM model though as i have one lying around my garage

The two cars are both classics, mine is a 2001 UK classic and the dona center section is from a 1998 classic, has the 01's exhust still got more pieces or are you getting it mixed up with a bug eye impreza?

All standard OEM classic exhausts are the same size. From MY92 to the very last classics, they are all the same sized sections. Even Japanese imports have the same sized exhausts. They all fit.

Does that help
