Default TD05 to TD04 swap....

The turbo on my 93 RA has decided enough is enough

Would a TD04 go straight on without needing the ECU remapped?

I have a one sat in the garage and would save a couple of hundred quid of my hard earned if it would go straight on

I'm not that power hungry so not too worried on the power loss

It would physically go on but its not gonna match the map you have on your ecu. its gonna be a down grade for ya
Spose wouldnt hurt if you ran it off boost (or gentle boost) for a bit while you source a td05

I've run a TD04 on a MY93 for a good 6 months. Runs fine, if fact many people would argue for a fairly standard car (220-260bhpish) then the TD04 is a much better turbo. And i would agree...
