Fault code 24 need advice
Having probs with my engine light coming on when driving. See my old post
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=487579
I have reset the ecu checked the codes all clear, Then went out for a drive light come on I stopped and done another check and come up with code 24 (Idle air control solenoid) does this mean it needs replacing, cleaning and will it do any damage if I keep driving.
Thanks guys

I seem to remember trying to clean it a while back, as per instructions, but I seem to remember that I gave up trying to clean it because I couldn't be arsed to take the TMIC off (to access the bolts that hold it on).
I'll have to take another look.

, I will let you know my outcome.Paul
You could try sourcing an MY97 IAC from breakers, should be easy enough.
What about wiring to/from it , does that look ok ??
It is not unknown to have poor earthing in scoobs of that age.
This may not solve your particular problem, but may be worth a shot.
Try getting hold of an earthing kit or make one up, Halfords (IIRC 10 gauge) wire, with some connectors.
Run from battery earth, to strup top, couple to engine points.
I will put my flame suit on at this stage, and say my MY97 ran better.
I cannot explain exactly why, maybe it could be something to do with ironing out any voltage drops due to bad earthing points; i just dont know.

Cleaned it out and no luck
still doing it. So it's got to be a new one. Is a WRX one the same as the STI V3 one?
Thanks
