Question STI 8 TMIC pipe- which way around..?!?

May seem like an idiotic question, but the red rubber 90deg elbow from TC to the cast 'y' pipe has an alloy 'hump' on it (not sure why)..!

So which way should this pipe go on (does it even matter)..?

Will try and get some pics of what I'm on about...

I did have some pics of how it was when I got it, but I've lost them..!

The alloy piece is there to help lever the pipe onto the turbo.Its a simple as that

What MY is it going on?

On MY99/00 I had to 'hybridise' a samco+the sti pipe.

Thanks, had wondered if that might be what it's for when I was putting it back on as it did help..!
