Head Gasket
Hi all,
Bit of a problem. Got a uk 98 impreza turbo with an amazing 150000 miles and seems as if the head gaskets gone (blowing bubbles, heating in car not working when stood still, loosing water) funny thing is it doesnt overheat and there is no gunge in the oil. oh yea its always steeming from exhaust. Anyway ime after a good garage to get the work done. i live in catterick and if anybody knows of any garages near me then please let me know. i tried the local subaru dealer and was quoted a whopping £1600. seems a bit over the top to me.
Many Thanks!!

Worth Looking at
Hello,
All symptoms point to Head Gasket - although so did mine. Any water loss can make the Heater stop working - refilling the system to get all the air out can be difficult. Mine was leaking from behind the Radiator on the near side - water was running down the front of the engine. Loosing coolent can produce an airlock, which can cause bubbling. Mine turned out to be the water pump leaking. Do not run for too long with a leak, otherwise the Head will go - if it's not gone already. Mine has been fine since, although changed the Cam belt whilst doing the pump.
All the best.
Mart.

then again with my luck it will be a new head gasket. Gonna get it checked out soonest, fingers crossed.
