Question Tuning the Forester XT (2 litre 177bhp)

Are there are quick fixes to get more bhp and torque out of a Forester XT (2 litre 177bhp)? It must be possible to chip to 220bhp without a problem I would have thought ...

You will find it hard with the tiddly little turbo.
The old shape Forester was available as a PPP, but that was only to 200 bhp from 175 bhp.

PMSL indeed. Any better ideas for transporting a family of four around with 200+ bhp for 12k?

Thanks for the other info guys.

Assuming this is a UK car then your options as Butty suggests are the PPP (but expensive, and only if you have to keep it warranty-friendly) or some alternative tweaks to power and handling.

Most Impreza bits fit, so you could look at getting a lot more flow with a different up-pipe (only if if it has a cat in it, after 01 they do but earlier ones don't), ideally to end up with a sports cat in the downpipe and no cat in the mid-section. To make the most of this it should then be remapped to get much more torque. You may find some parts as cast-offs from Impreza owners moving to aftermarket bits.

Although this link relates to the 2.5 XT the explanation and the general strategy would be the same for the 2.0:

They've got another article for the GT, which may in fact be more similar to yours:

And as Bartop says, lots of enthusiasts over at subaruforester.org, including, er, Bartop... (and me)
