Does AVCR loose settings if Removed ??

Im thinking of installing my AVCR as a portable / removable unit similar to a CD head unit and was wondering if it retains the settings ??

I think it will retain the settings as it has its own backup battery. my battery terminal has come loose a few times but the avc-r has never lost its settings.

Good thats promising as i want to remove it from the car when Parking for security reasons

As Banny says it does retain the settings but no idea for how long..
More than a couple of days so far.

On a similar note (sorry for hijacking the thread)....................

but what would happen if the AVC-r was stolen during a break-in.

Would the car still run?
