depends how often you use it.....if your intending on using it on the road then i would say dont......(as its pretty stupid to anyway) if its a blast up the drag strip then its not so bad....but you just have to make sure its set up correctly and DONT use it for too long of a burn.

a 50 on a progressive should be ok, but like i said, get it set up properly.

ultimately it will reduce engine life especially if set up badly (or used for too long due to increases in EGT temps will just melt everything in sight)

i was going to get it fitted by wizards of nos or similar! it wouldn't be very often, maybe 2 or 3 times a week. but if you dont think it's a good idea then i wont. i would only have used the 30hp jets anyway

i just ultimately found out the hard way.....for normal use (and when i say normal, short bursts on a progressive <10 secs then it shoudl be ok, with a 30 shot anyway, even 50 would be ok. Its just that you WILL end up using it more often, its pretty addictive!

You should be able to release a fair bit more from yours for similar money.

350bhp on your current turbo/setup
350++ with a change of turbo

depends what you define as similar money Bob, long time no speak by the way mate

your right in that you could remap the car for a bit more power but most likely no more than about 30-40bhp before the turbo runs out of puff, but if your changed the turbo too then your starting to near 4 figures. The NOS set up will cost far less than that.

Also, the key thing about NOS is the way it affects the torque, not the bhp. A 25bhp will perhaps increase power by 25bhp but increase torque by nearer 40lbft.....thast what kills the engines, turning it on too early i.e. before about 3500rpm.

Hi Neil

£489 for the basic WON nitrous kit
£259-369 for WON progressive controller
£200-300? Install

Weigh that up against a remap+de-cat or a remap+decat+turbo.

That way you have all the power available all the time.

I considered nitrous before modding mine but in the end concluded that a remap/turbo etc was the better option.
