Standard boost pressure is between 0.8 and 0.9 Bar, not sure on the exact value. But the fuel cut is 1.17 Bar.

Thanks Normski!

My STI is obviously boosting at the correct level, just every so often it must boost a little bit more and cut the fuel ????????

Mine does aswell, I've only noticed it a couple of times after changing gear from 2nd to 3rd hard. My electronic boost controller is set at 1.05 bar and seens to do a pretty good job.

If you have a de-catted downpipe the turbo will boost easier/quicker. Cold winter air makes the problem worse aswell.

I have got a decat 3" downpipe fitted!

I've been told that this can sometimes affect the boosting and fuel cut!

Would an Apexi AVCR control my boost better? I've heard I can only put my boost to 1.1bar due to the maximum boost setting of the ECU. Would an AVCR allow me to boost at 1.2 bar??????

thanks!

Peak Boost is 13.64psi (but only in one Zone), the rest of the peak target boost is 13.17psi.
Fuel cut is 15.96psi.

even if the fuel cut is removed I think you will be limited by fuel supply from the injectors at around 1.2 bar if you are running on 380's

I was thinking of getting some 2nd hand 440cc injectors, FPR and Walbro pump. After that get a V3/4/5/6 TMIC and then some how address the upping of my boost to 1.2bar or thereabouts.

I don't really want to go down the MBC route, yet a PFC is expensive! Any other ways? Could I up my boost through an AVCR???????

If you get bigger injectors then you will need remap. During the remap the mapper will be able to set the boost as high as the injectors/intercooler/turbo allow.

On your car, with the 440 injectors, 1.2 bar will not be a problem, infact you will not be far off that with the standard injectors. The remap will also remove the fuel cut so you could boost higher than the mapped boost figure with a MBC without any problem (apart from detonating your engine to bits).

A remap on a scoobyecu from somewhere like scooby clinic should cost around 400 quid.

looks like map sensor could be the limiter, I forgot about that as I bought and fitted a 1997> Map sensor to my MY94. Only cost me about 20 or 30 quid secondhand
