Default Turbo problems

Ahh.... how ive had an eventful day.Ive just fitted gruppe s headers, helix up-pipe and TD05FE hybrid to my MY98 type R,and although it hasnt been mapped yet i took it out for a shortish run (off boost).Problems started as i was approaching my mates house, loud bang and car sounded like a tank instantly.Limped it onto my mates drive and popped the bonnet, didnt see anything obvious, except the SX FRP leaking slightly,so we sorted that problem while the bonnet was up.Then we started the car and it was blowing like mad from the front, after close inspection i noticed that the M18 plug that was screwed into the headers had worked its way loose and had fallen out en route. So we popped out to get another M18 plug and fitted that very securely and started the engine......success (i had initially thought my engine had let go ) Then on the way home tonight, once the engine had warmed up sufficiently,i gave it a little blip on the throttle to make sure the new turbo was boosting ok.It bossted to about 7psi then spluttered and held back.I tried it again and the same happened only this time it was jumping all over the place and i was struggling to keep the car from stalling. As soon as i got home i took my foot off the accelerator and the car stalled immediately.I popped the bonnet had a quick nosey in the dark and a feel around and couldnt find anything obvious.
Im wondering whether or not the inlet has come off the front of the turbo (i didnt check this) if this is the case would it have these symptoms.

sorry for the long story
