Boost Solenoid Question!!
Had the usual solenoid problem of surging boost pressure in MY 99 UK 2000, and tried to clean said solenoid.
However during the cleaning process of removing the pipe that leads to the T piece, the male end that this pipe fits over has broken.
My question is this, can the car still be driven in this state, with the pipe disconected, I have a 40 mile journey home and do not want to do any more damage
The joys of DIY mechanics at this time of night!

Solenoid question
I have just been to the local scrappy (due to my only dealership being closed for the hols ) and have managed to get a similar boost solenoid from an import sti year unknown.
The parts numbers are slightly different ie mine is 16102AA160, and the "new" part is 16102AA090.
The only other differrence is the wiring connectors, mine is square and the new one is round, one black and red, the other black and yellow/red.
Can I connect these two using a block connector, and are the parts compatible??
Please help car due MOT tomorrow!!!!!!

i am sure the wiring is just the 12v to work the solenoid via the ecu , you could probably cut and join the wires - just use multimeter or something to make sure + to - . when you wire and connect , hold revs about 1600rpm and listen for solenoid clicking or connect two green connecters under dash (i think) to activate test mode and all sensors should be doing their bit ie cooling fans start and stop - solenoid clicking.
