Default 04 WRX Coolant leaking any ideas.

Just took my car out, and have smoke coming from the engine bay which looks like coolant by the smell of it just near where the turbo is, also the tempreture on the dash was higher then normal, and the heaters would only blow cold air. Anybody got any ideas what it could be or what I should be looking at, as it was dark at the time and i'll have to take a look tomorrow. Also the car has been serviced last week, so there all coolants, oil etc have been topped up.

Just had a look, and looks to me that the coolant pipe to the turbo has rubbed against the bottom of the intercooler and made it split, Looks like ill have to get a nice strong Samco hose in there.

Thanks Az for phoning me on xmas day to help with the problem.

Hi John,

other than API your best bet is mail order from GGR, Roger Clarke, PS etc... but with Christmas you'll stuggle to get one this year..!

How about Ebay..?

If you haven't got a standard replacement to tide you over try some hose repair tape from Halfrauds.

Hi Jason

Mate has just gave me a spare hose from another turbo'd car, fits perfect and will sort it until I can get my hands on some Samco hoses.

Hows your car going, have you any plans for 2006.

John
