can anyone tell me what readings i should be getting on knock sensor
at the moment i seem to get between
0- 32 on tesco super
0-38 on optimax
0-68 on bp super ,suspect **** petrol was audibly pinking on full boost and
61 if hitting rev limit
are these normal or are they to high

I would say those readings are too high, my CEL is set to come on when the knock level hits 40. Although I beleave the default is 80.
Personaly I would be worried about a reading of 68.

68 is too high for sure, the check engine light should be flashing at you !
The knock (noise meter) readings should be in the same range as when it was mapped. Some cars run very low ie in the 5-10 range and others, usually the earlier cars, can run in the 30-40 range during normal running.

Hi
it was yourself andy that mapped the car, the red wrx i bought from teg sport with the faulty lambda and coil packs and ive found normal noise was about between 2-7 off boost and 12-30 on boost
as you can see the car runs on optimax and tesco super perfect
it was the other day when i thought i would try bp ultimate and a can of proboost that the car suddenly started pinking and spiking the knock sensor very high
ive had to turn boost down to about 0.8 bar to stop pinking
looks like ive wasted a can of proboost and will have to drive car slowly untill tanks empty
stuart from teg sport did say that it should never go above 10 or 12 so i thought i would ask others what they get
must be bp at grangemouth has got crap petrol

BP 97 RON is Ultimately **** poor, avoid like the plague. It would be the first time that I've had someone who "runs it on Optimax all the time" give me a phonecall to say it's been detting after some BP ultimate "it's probably not much different to optimax..."
