Eprom writers for scoobyecu chips
My mapper who mapped my scoobyecu chip said I could get an eprom writer with software for around £250.
He's become a bit hard to get hold of recently so I was wondering if any of you (Scott T. perhaps) could give me some advice about purchasing an Eprom writer.

I built a Willem programmer kit: http://www.willem.org
Worked a treat, I sold it to someone for the purposes of burning his own ScoobyEcu EPROMs

If using the ScoobyECU adaptor and twin chips then the willem programmer mentioned above will work fine.
If using the genuine 27C1028 device you will need to get a pukka programmer, maybe an old DOS based Data I/O off Ebay.
Neither of the above will cost anything like £250....
information provided for those wanting to update their own device. 'NOT' for banging out copies of mine....that reminds me, i must look into write protecting these things

thanks for the replies. Yep, scott, just looking to be able to adjust my map - cheaper than getting a power FC.
I have the twin chips on the adaptor board. What i need is something that I can plug these chips into to access my current map with software that understands (or enables me to identify) what all the different parameters are (eg boost target, ignition advance etc).
