Default Is this BHP figure likely to be right ??

Had my MY93 WRX rolling roaded yesterday, I was expecting 240bhp as std. plus maybe a bit more for the filter and stainless exhaust. I have a feeling it has been chipped/mapped as it is running 1.0bar boost, but the RR figure has come out at 333bhp.

333bhp sounds a lot to me - is this realistic?

It was Alwyn Kershaw's near York. I am told they are well known for being inaccurate though I have only heard this from 1 source.

But 93bhp difference is more than inaccurate !

Hmm, something told me 300+bhp from what is basically a std car was suspicious to say the least, and the guys on jap-club.com seem to agree.

Main thing is the car is running OK, but it's annoying not knowing what power it's producing.

It was probably 233 BHP which would be much more realistic bearing in mind the 240ps figure is based on the car using 100 octane fuel

IMHO, That place is a joke.

I was with Alan Bell on the RR day he mentions....... they never even tied the cars down. Thought sitting a couple of lads on the front of the car (in front of the fans) was sufficent.

I got figures from 270-350bhp

Mine was strapped down at the front but not the rear. Needless to say, it started to wander a little on the rollers and apparently tried to climb out of them.
