Question STI 05 AFTER MARKET DECAT DOWNPIPE LIP

Hi, purchased this aftermarket downpipe, looks very similar to the Hayward & Scott, but I'm not too sure about the build quality.

Where the wide neck has been joined to the 3" pipe, if you look at the inside there is quite a lip of the 3" pipe sticking out, I thought this would have been welded and smoothed for good flow characteristics?

It seems a little crude and rushed to be honest.
I did have a Hayward & Scott downpipe on my last sti but cannot remember if it had this same lip, can anyone shed some light as to whether this will effect performance and whether the H&S system has this lip.

Cheers in advance

This is the link to the item I purchased on ebay.

NO it isn't one or ours,if it was it would have been smooth inside.
Any restriction that close to the turbo isn't good !! :-(

Lightbulb

thought as much, smooth is a must.
I was told to get it welded on the inside and then ground down so its smoothe would this do the trick, I guess thats what they do with the H&S systems?

If it was made right in the first place you wouldn't have the lip sticking through. We butt beld the cone to the tube and then clean of the excess weld penetration !!
