Unhappy Help, steering wheel removal!

I am in the middle of fitting a new steering wheel to my MY97 Impreza. I have managed to get the airbag off, but I can't get the actual wheel off. I have obviously taken the retaining nut off. Is it now just a case of pulling hard, or is there anything else I need to remove?

Cheers

You could really do with a steering wheel puller as they can be really bloody tight & leaving the nut on & whacking the column with a hammer whilst pulling is not good either as the column could compress & shorten ( I know , it happend to me !!!). Try wiggling & pulling quite vigourisly , if that fails try & get your hands on a puller
