Throttle Position Sensor / Solenoid Cleaning

Throttle Position Sensor / Solenoid Cleaning
Hi. Please be gentle – I’m a newbie J
My STI4 has started to idle at different speeds. It doesn’t ‘hunt’, just picks a speed (say 1500 revs) at start up and sticks to it. The next time you start it, it may go back to 800rpm as per normal.
Anyway, I took it to a Subaru dealer in Knockholt, Kent (South East) who diagnosed it as a dirty throttle position sensor / solenoid. Unfortunately due to it being an import they could carry out the work despite getting my hopes up by quoting £68 plus VAT.
My question is, could I do this myself – despite having very little knowledge of such things?
If not, can anyone recommend a good garage that I can use in the SE London / West Kent area?
Thanks in advance.

Just seen this post:

I'd only searched this forum before.
Without wanting to sound too stupid, now that I know where to find it, what shall I use to clean it?
Thanks.
