ive got a 94 1.8 impreza gl,
the problem started a couple ov days ago.
i turn on the ignition + all was fine, but when i put the car in gear the rev,s
went up to 2000, as the drive progressed the revs then started to flutter between either 2000 or 500 ( normaly ticks over at 800) i suspected a faulty maf sensor so set of to a breakers today to pick 1 up, now todays journey started off just the say, but as the car warmed up it started stalling + foot to the floor only got 2000 revs. managed to get the new sensor fitted but still the same. oh when the cars power died it wouldnt pull away, but if i turned off the ignition + switched it straight back on it was fine for say a minute!! then playing up again.. anyone know whats going on wi this car????
help, please...lol

 

coolant temp sensor perhaps.. ecu is not sure engine is hot or cold...

so difficult from a text description though.. could be many things.
