Default Boost Solenoid

Someone has informed me that you cannot replace a boost solenoid (on a classic) like for like just like you would with a MAF if it's playing up.
Does anyone know if this is true and why?

Hello Journeyman

It's me again.....I have found some info on cleaning boost solenoid.....but I havent sussed out how to link to it yet....the address is below

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...hlight=surging

If you find out about swapping boost solenoids like for like (which seems easier and a more satisfactory solution to the problem) please could you keep us informed. If I find something out I'll be sure to post

Cheers
John
