Relay click on ECU Reset, what???
My mate has bought a 1995 STI and on getting the car home, the cel is flashing, so when he checked the fault codes there were 4 of them.
In case these were old problems on the car he wants to clear them but when he done an ECU reset a relay started clicking and he had to stop doing it, anybody any ideas?

it's not a relay it's the boost solenoid clicking. look underneath the steering column and there is a black connector and a green one (if ir remember rightly). they should both be disconnected as connecting them flashes the fault codes and resets the ecu.

the ecu is already reset if the lights flashing 1/2 sec intervals. You connect the two connectors then drive until the light flashes, then you unplug the connectors. it's now reset and if it flashes again it's cos there's a fault.
