Question P1 fuel pump

Hi

I have a 1993 uk legacy turbo which is slightly tuned. I was wondering if a P1 fuel pump would be an upgrade on the pump that's in there at the moment

Does anyone know please?

Thanks

Just get a Walbro 255lph pump. If you're going to the hassle of changing it, then get a new, and an uprated one.

The P1 pump is no different to any other classic fuel pump AFAIK.

Whether an Impreza pump is the same as the legacy, I'm not sure??

I plan to upgrade the pump in some way in the future because I plan to mod the car further. Does a Walbro pump fit straight in as a direct replacement?

What I wondered about the P1 pump was if it was the same as a sti pump and if they differ to uk models?

The walbro is a straight replacement for the OE pump in a classic Impreza. AFAIK the STI's/UK's/P1 etc all have the same pump fitted as standard.

(Only with the new age did they fit an uprated pump of sorts for the PPP package I think)

Ask Alyn @ www.as-performance.co.uk if they are the same as the Legacy fitment??

He is the best supplier IMHO for the Walbro's.

Good point Alyn is a member over on the legacy board and is very helpful I think I'll just get the walbro instead

Thanks

IIRC,the pi and sti5/6 pumps are slightly more higher pressure (at least thats what I was told by a reputable tuner). The later style pump fitted to the p1 is actually smaller than the earlier type fitted to my93-98,and IMO the later design is more reliable, but as said above,if youre going through the hassle then you would be better of with a proper upgrade.

I've got a 500mile old P1 pump if anyone needs it, I brought it to replace the one on my Sti3, but is completely different on fitting/size.
