the hand brake light wont go off when i take the hand brake off in my 94wrx is this out to worry about or just a sensor gone wrong cheers

Just means that your brake fluid is low, this generally means your pads are low.
Top up the brake fluid and the light will go out, also make sure you get your pads checked for wear.

I find that cars i work on usually dont have much life left in the pads when the light comes on.

some times the float gets suck as well on the brake reservoir .
