none of the above.........TD05..16G,18G,20G would be a far better investment IMHO

Apprantly stock internals are good for 400Bhp even on wrx/uk turbo, it's the clutch and gearbox that are the weak point's. I've got an uprated clutch ready to go in when mine goes. Gearbox's are at there limit at about 350bhp.

Thats why i went for the Vf34 over a TD05 18G, as i was told that would be pushing my luck.

Check out www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk there is some interesting infomation on there.

Not "always" necessary but would be recommended.

I ran a vf34 on an MY99 UK turbo at 1.4 bar on a standard ae802 ecu for 1 year 15,000 miles without a problem. This was with knock and wideband AFR monitoring, higher fuel pressure, octane booster and 2 degrees of blanket retard across the map (using deltadash).

Now have Power FC (AndyF mapped, continuously tweaked by me ) running 1.55 bar. It feels much better/smoother/stronger now, and I've worked a lot on the part throttle/boost areas of the map. Driveability is so much better than the standard ecu.

Be warned though, that sort of boost breaks gearboxes. I stripped third a few months ago, now have a MY02 WRX 5 speed which "may" be a bit stonger. We'll see
