Car kicking out lots of smoke on start up then drives fine without any smoke
As above. I'm quite confused as the car is running very well and was rebuilt about 8000 miles ago.
Lots of oily smoke on start up when cold, after a while it disappears and then drives fine without any smoke I can stop it and start it, no smoke. The smoke seems to appear after being stood for a while.
My suspisions are that its a possible valve stem seal that's gone.
Anyone got any other ideas?

What I'd do is leave the car to sit for a while, then turn the engine over with the coil packs off and then take the spark plugs out, if only one is oily, I'd say it's a valve stem seal. If two on the same side are oily, is the engine level? If all four are oily, how much oils did you put in it?
Cheers
