after hard acceleration about 6000 rpm the engine check light comes on, this remains on for a few hours then goes off. it also goes off if i switch ignition on/off a few times. whats it all about? (o2 wrx). bob

 

Mine does this and the SECS tells me it's a "camshaft position circuit malfunction" or something like.

Get a "select monitor" on the car and see what the historic fault codes are, my dealer here in carlisle would often do it for free if someone had a spare 5 minuites in the workshop. Other dealers may charge
