Ok, I purchased a new binicle for my 93 ra, because the mileometer wasnt working, have just got round to changing it over, and behold the mileometer worked, but the speedo doesnt.......
arggggggggg
So after some fiddling, and throwing the toys from the pram I put the old one back in, so at least I could get a working speedo again....
It now doesnt work either.......
I think (but not positive) its something to do with the spring behind the speedo face as I had to take the face off the new binicle (as it reads kph) and replace it with my old mph one (mph).
Anyone had this problem, or any gurus know the inners if these units to offer some insight??

Hi,
Put the clock dash in completely and then push fit the speedo cable.
It will actually 'click'.
If you just push with no click either the speedo or mileometer will not work or both.
Be careful do not force.
Good luck.
Ricky.

Yeah, done all that m8, did you have any trouble with the spring behind the speedo face when you took the needle off? Im thinking it could be this, as the spring looks a tad unwound, but tbh I cant remember if it was like that before I replaced the speedo face.
Cheers

I would be inclined to get a new unit, once you start "tampering" with the inner workings of these, it then begins to become a bit of a nightmare.
