Question I guess i need new injectors but what ones

Damn, hadnt thought of this, will be fitting Td05 to my 02 WRX and plam to do one or two more mods, hopefully seeing 350bhp. Now an oversight of mine was forgetting the injectors (and fuel pump too). What size are on there at the mo? Not that that matters much but what should i go for?

With regards to fuel cycles.... From what i have read, this is how i (think i)understand it. An injector can only supply a certain amount of fuel at a certain rate (fuel cycle) Would it be better to have larger injectors not working to their max, or have inj's that are matched to the application in hand?

The only reason i say about bigger injectors is, if i plan bigger power in future then they may still be adequate.

If the second part of this post is nonsense please ignore

I have STI intercooler fitted, the fuel pump will prob be changed at the time of the re-map.

Would it be ok to also have the injectors done at pump/map day, or can i run the td05 on its own for a while. before the above items are changed.

What is the limits on 550cc inj'?

No three inch exhaust, will i need one for this power?

Cookie,

The 565cc injectors are more than capable of dealing with anything that the TD05 can put out.

Good, so they are STI "pink" injectors then,?

I'm assuming there would be no point fitting these before the turbo/map/f-pump.

550's are normally for the phase 2 rails on classic cars 99- and are side feed.
565 ones are slim top feed injectors to fit newage cars 2001-2005.

if 350bhp is your goal, STI 565cc are up to it.
If you plan more power in the future i would go for 650cc.
But it's a sh*tty job on the bugeye so make sure you pick the right ones

Right so what else am i going to need to get to my 350BHP target?

Mods So far

STI8 Intercooler
Induction kit (soon to be replaced with cold air one)
Full DE-CAT
Dawes device running 1.1Bar

Mods waiting to go on

TD05 16g
Pink 565 injectors
Ported OE Headers

^^ When they are done, the car will be re-mapped.

Will this reach my target figure? And if no, then what else do i need.

Car is an 02WRX BTW

I think your better off with an td05-18G. This turbo is capable off 370bhp. I'm not sure the TD05-16G will make 350bhp.

Problem is, Your not going to find an 18G for £250 secondhand like you can the 16G.
The 16G is capable of 350BHP. Mine made 348bhp/330ft/lb ( close enough )and mine is still a 90 degree entry.

I have to get mine converted, I am fine with the 16g at the mo, as when it comes time to move up then it will be easy to sell on.

Still a bit wary of pushing standard wrx internals to far as well.

Yes 348 would eb close enough for me

Due to the topfeed you have to take a whole lot more of the car. Whith the classic's it's an easy job. I've done 2 bugeye's now but will advise anyone to have it done by a garage. I'd rather change a clutch and that's also not one of my favorit hobby's

But if you have time and patience you can do it yourself
